The Dome (this year it's called Topaz Dome to honour a new sponsor of the Rose of Trallee Festival) is not a usual venue. It's a temporary construction, a rectangle marquee, erected next to Fels Point Hotel (headquarters of the festival) in Tralee. It's supposed to host all main events of the festival, the Ball included, so I assume its capacity is about 1500 -2000. That's how it looked last year.

Ahh, classic Shane :D

Was'nt Damo was it?

Don't think it was Damien Dempsey. This guy was an older guy.

Jack Dempsey?

That would be a knockout show

Friday night show was really fun! I never saw Sharon Shannon but she's probably one of the best accordion players. Shane came out an hour into it and played Irish Rover, Sally Maclennane, Rainy Night in Soho, and Fiesta. Then came back out later with everyone during the encore to sing Dirty Old Town. during Galway Girl, Shane was pretending(?) to fight with Jerry Fish with the mic stand and try to hit him with the mic. Then yanked Carol Keogh to him and made her twirl around. I think she got scared because she got off the stage after that haha.

You take up two seats??!!
Salad, this is skapunk..skapunk, this is salad.. :D

hahaha. Nah my girlfriend will be there too.

Zuzana- I didn't bother going through the troubles of trying to get a photo pass for the gig and just wanted to enjoy the concert this time around. but thanks Zuzana.

Paul - my girlfriend will probably bring her small digital camera. I doubt i'll get anything good with it though.

Philip - are you gonna make it to the show in Dublin?

Why no gig pictures? Does the venue have a strict shooting policy? It would be a delight to see your shots. :)

They're pretty liberal with camera use at the olympia, as long as its a small digital camera,or the like. You'll need a photo pass for shooting with anything else.

PS: seats at the olympia don't leave you with much leg room at all....at all at all

The Olympia - the Star of Erin, the Empire, Dan Lowrey's Music Hall as was - was expressly built for Lilliputians, despite its 1600 capacity. Not many people know the theatre was built in honour of local celebrity Gulliver.

Dear Irish and potential guests of Ireland!
May Day is approaching and Sharon + Shane Mayhem with it.
Just a week till their gig at Olympia Theatre, Dublin. Time to finalize your plans.
Do not repeat Moose’s mistake and do not miss the show.
Come, see and compare your impressions with that of those who are still thrilled after the recent UK tour.
