On the
Jamm site they promise: "The Pogues are heading a short stumble down the road to JAMM to continue the party...", calling the party (as well as
ticketweb.co.uk,
visitlondon.com and other sites do) "The Pogues OFFICIAL After Party". If neither the band nor the management have anything to do with the event shouldn’t the organizers be a bit more careful with using the name of the band when luring fans to their party? Did the band’s official representatives contact the organizers or promoters? For the moment, their promo is much more widespread than the band’s "save your money" words of wisdom...
In fairness, no enterprise which makes the mistake of picturing the Pogues taking a "short stumble" down the road after a two hour show is ever going to have the ring of authenticity now, is it? That's not to say a fabulous time will not be had by all those who do attend, especially if it adequately fulfils a need to keep the party going. You won't find me within a short hop away, much less a short stumble.
