Make sure to stop in Philly Ryan's bar in Nenagh,
Shane has been known to hang out there and there is a wonderful photo of Shane and Joe Strummer on the back wall.

Watch out for the mushroom field outside of Puckah, you'll lose days. Happened to Christy Moore.

Well, if I were you I'd not start from here! :-)

I'd head to Shinrone and start from there. Head down the small boreen, past the gap in the wall to the crossroad at Finnoe (there's often young couples courting here). Turn left, no..........right, no..........left towards Glenaveigh and .......... Oh..........erm.......... Sorry.........I dunno.

I think it's still there, and i think that because i seem to remember hearing/reading somewhere that Shane has bought it, and spends lots of time there.

Hi Peter,

All I know is what Shane had told us in his documentary. The farmhouse is in the civil parish of Finnoe, in the barony of Ormond Lower Tipperary. It's located near the town of Borrisokane. I'm not sure if it's been torn down. I hope not! I plan on vacationing in Ireland soon also and would also love to see Shane' s childhood home. Sorry, that's all the info I have. I hope you get to see it and I hope you have a great trip!

Hello,

I'm going to visit Ireland next year. We planned a route all trough the country, and Tipperary is on that route too. I want to pass by the farm Shane grew up. Does anybody know where in Tipperary I can find it - or did it get teared down?

Cheers
Peter
