fan club memories early 90ies

I´m back with The Pogues finally. "Peace and Love" was the first LP i ever bought. I loved them so much and was so disappointed when Shane left the band. I prayed for his return, but things are different now. I hope the good old times can come back, where everybody was drunk at their concerts and really happy from deep within deep their hearts. I´m so glad about their reunion, though i wasn´t able to attend one of their concerts again. Their songs still haunt me, especially Phil´s, it´s true. I have a jukebox in my head, and when the Pogues´ songs get their coins, my deep and far away memories start, and my heart brings back the old times. Sometimes it makes me cry, because i was so young and pure and so full of hope. i´m very glad that i didn´t know my future yet in those early pogues-fan-club-times. those times are my refuge, when i need to get reminded how faith felt and the hope that everything good is possible and will happen soon. especially when you feel like stranded in hell´s ditch. but the pogues can´t be beaten, especially now that they have phil and kirsty as extra angels to lead us on. the evil can´t take pogues out of me. god bless all of them. they are my life´s saviours in this world. i´m so thankful that i got to know them. they can still bring it all back, despite of all the rubbish talk about alcohol, drugs, lost talents and lost voices. they have the guts and they are some of the best fighters heaven ever had. i thank god for your music and for holding on. you still make the world a better place.
