Okay, I finally found a link after a few sporadic searches:

The Doyle "scribbles" are beautiful and Shane's mostly seem to be random hurried ideas jotted down on napkins and such, so no, they don't really seem alike. I'm glad you mentioned this, though, since I wouldn't have ever seen the Doyle diary otherwise.

That's interesting. Where can we see Arthur Conan Doyle's scribbles? Anyway, since Doyle died in 1930, I suppose it's possible that Shane is Doyle reincarnated.
