Film score for Circle of Friends was also Michael Kamen work . You're the. One: Shane MacGowan & Maire Brennan was a track.

Re ;Michael Kamen
"he collaborated with Pink Floyd on thier album The Wall...."
http://www.MichaelKamen.com [his own web site / bio ]

Guess the original quote may be better written/read as collaborated with as opposed to member of Pink Floyd. But the fact remains that there is a very strong connection there.
He sadly died in 2002.You can read Kamen's obituary at ;

Quote was lifted from Pogues .com Shanes Bio page [as credited in post] but I have no idea who Michael Kamen is or if he had any Pink Floyd connections. Not A Pink Floyd fan at all.
Only thing of Pink Floyds that I could put him with would be The Wall .

Thanks to MacRua's great site just gave the ALABAMA 3 - Fix )feat. Shane Macgowan) track a listen . Was not sure what I was especting from this as Alabama3 can be very left field but it was not this.
It sounds alot like goth/dark band Fields Of Nephilim to me .But thats just on first listen.

I recently came across a version of "The Broad Majestic Shannon" with Shane and Na Comharsana. Shane shares his vocals with a singer who is unknown to me. Can anybody help me and give some information about the record? When was it recorded and who or what exactly is "Na Comharsana"? From Shane's vocals it sounds like something around 1996/1997 to me. While I like his vocal parts, I really don't appreciate the other unknown singer...got a really strange vocal style...anyways, thanks for taking time and reading this ;-)

Cheers!

Just dug out the cds in question .Vocals are Eamonn Bulter , Shane for track 1 The Sons Of Knocknagow .Vocals Shane , John Quirke, John Kennedy for track 2 Broad Majestic Shannon

Nice work MacRua,not look at you site for a while . It looks really good. The realeases page is a nice addtion.
Think Shanes tracks with Na Comharsana also made onto a lp cd by the band.http://www.litriocht.com/shop/product_i ... ts_id=3036
The Cruachan feat.Shane MacGowan Ride On (EP) that I own has a different cover/art work .Is there more than one realease of it ?

Sorry the above guest post was me , not sure why it went as a guest post ?
You have not inclueded The Sinead OConnor or Marie Brennan releases as yet.Think the Christy Moore track may have been released as a DVD
Quote....
"In 1994 Christy Moore sang a duet of the traditional "Spancil Hill" with Shane on Irish TV. Shane then recorded two duets with Sinead O'Connor and Marie Brennan (of Clannad). The first one was a re-recording of The Pogues' song "Haunted" (which appeared only on the "Sid & Nancy" soundtrack and on a 7" & 12" single), and the new version appeared in the film "Two if by Sea". The second, "You're The One" was used in the film "Circle Of Friends" and was a collaboration between Shane and former Pink Floyd member Michael Kamen, who composed the soundtrack. Both were released as singles and a second version of "The Snake" with the new tracks included was released in the US and Europe........"http://www.pogues.com/PastPogues/SMacGowan/SMacGowan.html
Also does vocals on RUB A DUB IN DA PUB’, on Danny Pope, EP “THE ACID TEETH”, 2001 CD
