Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't complain either. I loved Shane & The Popes at their best. Things just went really downhill toward the end, with Shane and the band both in a dreadful state and I'd hate to see that happen again.

Shane is on fine form with The Pogues right now, and seems really happy with the way things are going. He and the band are good for each other.

If he wanted to do some solo stuff again what about getting a brand new band together?

Mmm. Shane leaving The Pogues who are currently on a high, making big bucks selling out large venues all over the world to huge critical acclaim...to re-join The Popes who don't seem to know who their members are and currently play pub-sized venues in London?! I don't think so, do you?

Wow you met the Pope? So what was your business in Rome?

Just there for the craic, as they say. BibleCodeSundays were playing in the Vatican.

That's odd the way you put that, TOSCS -- seeing how this is the Pogues forum, and the part you through in there at the end would be of the most interest to most of us. So which Pope was it? Or are you just making it up? :?

Sounds like taking the piss out of Shane, Joey and others. The previous Wikipedia info stated: "More From The Crock" (out-takes from "The Crock Of Gold") is due to be released in November 2006 on Cashman Records. Some humorist editing Wikipedia? :)

New Shane/Popes Album?

Post by Michaelo Sat Mar 24, 2007 1:48 pm

Saw the following on Wikipedia this morning:
"More From The Crock (out-takes from "The Crock Of Gold") is due to be released in April 2007 on Cashman/MacGowan Records, with a single entitled Moody Bob being released on March 21. A sample cd consisting of drum tracks from the album entitled Drums From The Crock will be available in May 2007 in specialist music shops."

Does anyone have info on this? Is it even true?
