In the end there was no support band at the Cambridge gig. Don't know why, or whether there should have been. Someone made an announcement from the stage at around 9pm, but it was pretty incomprehensible. Shane started about 9.30pm. :-)

Croft No. Five will be supporting Shane MacGowan and the Popes at
Shepherds Bush Empire, London 17 March 2005
AND
EAU, Norwich 20 March 2005
(if take on trust Martin Coull's of Stoneyport Agency words )
OR
Corn ExChange, Cambridge 18 March 2005
(if you prefer to trust links at band's site, inspite of they call it "Shepherds Bush Empire, London 17 March 2005 ")

UPDATE (15.03.2005):
The latest information supplied by Martin Coull:
"Croft are now only supporting Shane on the London date - 17 March, unfortunately"

You're probably right, MacRua. The source of my info was a box add in this week's NME for the four dates 16-19 March. But it's wise never to trust what it says in ads...

Looks like by the moment boys promise their support only for Paddy's Day:
Thurs 17 March LOST COWBOYS
Paddy’s Day with Shane
Guests of Shane MacGowan and The Popes for St Patrick’s Day
Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Box Office 0870 771 2000
(from their Live Dates)

"Lady Winwoods Maggot" are sure they will accompany Shane on 19th Mar at Southsea Pier

"Bleeding Hearts" are ready for 16th Mar (Stourbridge)

Mark Radcliffe's Family Mahone have nothing against 18th Mar (Corn Exchange, Cambridge) according to ARC Sounds
