Just a side note:
a song can exist for ages before making into album. and normally new stuff starts getting played at gigs long before new album is out.
So leave sense along, please. You are not intimate friends.

Yes, they were playing "Lonesome Highway and Public Emeny No1" live, well before "Crock" was released.

and many other songs that werent from snake

I don't understand the meaning of either sentence. The first may mean "alone" instead of along, but still neither make sense. :?

Cluck. Cluck. At the risk of sparking a flaming of biblical proportions, methinks m'lord MacR implyeth that our friend OirishRoiver and the abstract value known informally as 'sense' are not to be normally associated one with t'other, mayhap?   Cluck.

Shane MacGowan - Live At Montreaux-DVD, wrong tracklist

Post by Laphroaig Thu Oct 11, 2007 5:53 pm

It it just my dvd, or is everyone printed wrong?

It says: Back in the county hell instead of Boys from the county hell..it´s two different songs..

I feel weird to start a thread about this, but it really bugs me..

After reading posts about montreux dvd I just had to watch it again last night, personal favorites greenland whale fisheries, cracklin rose, sick bed, irish rover and bottle of smoke.
I have seen Shane play with the Popes twice and had a ticket for Manchester cancelled gig this year, alot of people have given Shane and the Popes bad press in the past but when Shane rolls into town you just have to be there.
I know you can't compare The Popes and The Pogues but given the options at the time (before knowing The Pogues were doing their reunion tours) the option of either seeing Shane with The Popes or not seeing Shane at all I know which option I would take.
Roll on Birmingham on the 18th December especially when they announce the Christmas number one and our boys won.

mine's the voice of the enemy, then. i don't like the dvd.
well, that's strong, i do like it. it has it's shortcomings. we all know "drunk rowdy shane macgowan...how wild he is" blah blah blah. an image i hate. drunk or not, on some of the uptempo songs he really butchers the lyrics. i'm sure if you were there, the energy takes over, and it's an amazing show. but...my room doesn't pick up where shane's gyrating leaves off.

did he forget to wear socks? i'm trying to picture the dvd, i remember something very upsetting about his breakdancing, though i'm not sure what. i think it's the general feeling/smell of foot in shoe without sock. it gets to me.

well, dammit. i gotta go watch it, now.
