Shane's hair always looks good to me, in fact I try and cut my own hair to look like Shane's. I think once you get past the teeth Shane looks pretty damn stylish all round.

His two best looks I think were the sticky outey messy cut I think he had around the height of the pogues fame and the more recent fringey affair and beard combo. I don't know if he still has that but it looks good.

Though I saw him on the Frank Skinner show, not sure when it was from, and he looked awful to my eye. If anyone saw it you'll remember he was all clean looking and his hair was perfectly slicked and he was wearing some bright snazzy shirt, it really didn't suit him, I got the feeling that after the show was over he ran out into the street and grabbed two handfuls of dirt and began rubbing them on him while howling with relief.

In 1985 I was in a bar called The Sneyd Arms in Stoke with him and Jem prior to a gig at Stoke Polytechnic and we were discussing hairstyles. He pointed at a big guy with a quiff and said - "that's how I want my hair!"
