Look: there are authors and heroes.Heroes are sometimes positive and sometimes negative... And not all of them are necessarily author's personifications or mouthpieces. If one of characters of certain book insisted that earth was flat would you helpfully give the author a short excursus into astronomy? Or would you sue poor man of letters for killing a character (a lovely sixteen) in fourth chapter?

You want it public? Fine, maybe the rest will take it into consideration as well.

So, as it goes, the idea of having an earring in the right ear to signify somebody's gayness is a purely American idea. In Ireland, especially in the north, especially a couple decades ago, nobody had any fucking idea it might mean this. All it used to mean (and still means, as far as I know) is, if you're wearing one in the right one you're Catholic, if you're wearing one in the left you're Protestant. Those outside of Ireland, use some imagination and you will see how this is more meaningful for Ireland than signs of gayness...

Nonsense – only 11 days. ;) The Bog proudly presents a new masterpiece by the author of Three Monsters and Two Beauties: "The Private Parts", a gripping thriller looking deep into the complicated relationship between Shane and his manager Joey.

I read this story resently and really had a lot of fun! Joey's picture is inimitable! Distinctive humour makes me remember Bradbury's short stories... 8) A great stuff!!! And... I'm not the first reader who asks MacRua for more and more and more tales!

I just read it. It's hilarious! You're a good writer. You should really write more stories like this.

Three monsters and Two Beauties

:D Fantastic story MacRua!! I can whole-heartedly recommend this story to all - reading like a well-crafted Gonzo-Journalism piece one almost feels as though they are there standing there in the Connaught Hotel admist the chaos and confusion - I can only hope this is simply the begining of MacRua's Fan-stories about our Shane. Great writing style and some beautifully handled jibes at some key characters (who need not be named!).
Hilarious from start to finish 'Three monsters and Tho Beauties' is a great read. You'll find a link to it above for those who like to read things out of order (you know who you are!!).

Peace.

A fictionalised follow-up to this drama – „Three Monsters and Two Beauties“ by MacRua – can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/eoghainmacrua/tale_part1.html Don’t miss it!

What do you think about it? Any comments are welcome. :) :) :)

Well, it's pretty well! I think more than one gentle hint can be noticed in the story:)) I'd like to read more!:) Not necessary any continuation of this tale but any different somewhat absurd cases:)) MacRua's style is light and easy so i'll be waiting:))) Finally, i'd wish there was still more humour!:)

Shane has taken another significant step to become a legend – entered the realm of folk art. This is a thread for fan fiction dealing with the "Irish national treasure" and other well-known figures in his universe.

Fairytale Of Connaught Hotel

Thisis reality. But what happened after Shane and his friend were kicked out of the luxurious Connaught Hotel where they had been celebrating Shane’s winning the Q Award? Read "Three Monsters and Two Beauties" by MacRua. Unforgettable experience and a great fun guaranteed!

"They kicked him out, threw him in the wet darkness of a cruel London night. Didn't even let him finish his glass.... A beautiful girl helped him up..."
