Cast my mind back to the St Paddys day Glasgow Barrowlands gig (think it was 1989) and i was thrilled when spider took me backstage as i was stood at the side door trying to get his attention. He actually introduced me to Shane and when i asked for his autograph he took his cigs out of his Benson and Hegdes packet and signed "to gerry from shane" on that same packet i have autographs from daryl, terry and jem.

This fag packet has been framed and hangs proudly on my bedroom wall much to the annoyance of my girlfriend.

Thanks Spider for the best night of my life. :D

I am sure Mr Chevron would have been backstage and sorry to have neglected you. lol (hope you still have the celtic shirt)

Well, back in 198something, I went to Poplar Creek in Chicago to catch the Pogues, who were touring with Mojo Nixon and the Violent Femmes (a friend of mine was working for the Femmes, so I got a free seat about six rows back, just off the left side of the stage.

I brought the cover of my copy of IISFFGWG, and wouldn't you know, happenned to see Philip and Andrew sitting out in the seats before the show, so I approached them, and they kindly signed it. Later on, a roadie saw me wandering around with the cover and volunteered to get the rest of the band to sign it. Nice chap.

I'd like to draw your attention to this bodhran, guys:

Image

What makes it so special? It was signed by Pogues at the March 6th, 2008 concert at the Riviera Theater in Chicago and will be auctioned off on December 5, 2008 for Rock For Kids.

For 20 years, Rock For Kids has offered Chicago music fans one of the most memorable nights of the year, with our annual Rock & Roll Charity Auction. Since our first year, the auction has raised over 3 million dollars for Chicago's homeless and underprivileged children.

You have a great chance to obtain a remarkable item and support a good cause.

I got my blue "Boys From The County Hell" 7" cover and "Sally Maclennane" poster-sleeves signed by the band at the Cambridge Folk Festival. The two Pogues gigs there were probably the best I have ever seen, or at least joint best. I saw them outdoors and got photographs, and, if anyone else remembers the gig, I was the one who climbed up the tent-pole by the stage in the indoor gig autogand heartily sang along in my home-made "A Pair Of Brown Eyes/Whiskey You're The Devil" "T"-shirt which I still have!, and Rocky blew me a kiss lol!. It was probably the twenty-first Cambridge Folk Festival, or maybe the 22nd.. The autographs read as follows:- The Boys From The County Hell 7" FRONT "Maestro Jimmy", "Chevron x", REAR "Josie likes the Pogues", "So does Rocky, xxx", "Love Spider", "Cheers Shane", "Lots of love Andrew Ranken". Sally Maclennane 7" FRONT OUTER "Maestro Jimmy", "Spider x", "Chevron x", "Rocky x", "Love Andrew Ranken xxx", REVERSE OUTER "Love Shane xxx". Phil Chevron was a newcomer at the time to the band at the time. The Andrew Ranken autograph on the Sally Maclennane single goes over a price sticker reading £1.45!. I guess these must be worth a pretty penny now, although they are definitely not be for sale!.

Jem signed my "Sculpture" magazine with the article about "Score for a Hole in the Ground" in Boston this year. He was quite flattered that someone asked him to sign something other than Pogues memorabilia at a Pogues show.

Darryl signed proferred copies of Red Rose and Rum Sodomy like that for years. For all I know, he still does.

He did!

I'm in the process of buying a new camera. As soon as I can, I'll post a picture. It's worth seeing.

I've got an '06 Pogues Xmas shirt signed by Terry, James, Jem and Andrew and Daryl. Unfortunately Philip wasn't around that night as I'd have liked to thank him personally, and Spider is one of my favourite Pogues so was disappointed he wasn't around (was there the next night though >_>) and Shane was elusive as ever...
Hope to get it completed one day, but it's hard because if I wear the t-shirt to a gig it will get drenched in sweat and the sigs will probably run ...

I have an A4 sheet of paper since 2001 with all except Terry on it. Any time I met him I hadn't it with me. Any time I had it with me I didn't meet him.

Murphy's law strikes again.
