Just been searching again and found this one sold in 2019. You have to sign up with the auction site to see the price it sold for.

there's a great quality image that a screen printer could work from to recreate the original...

Looking at this original and the other image in a post above, they both seem to be sand blasted glass? Maybe not a proper mirror?

So I glanced on Etsy for people who personalize bar mirrors, but it just seems to be a lot of pre-done designs.

Though I’m sure there is a real custom artist among the bunch if you search. I recall making a mirror in art class the brief time I spent in high school. So, an actual artist in that medium replicating a design should be easy.

Now, this guy has a lot of affordable beer trays though.

BEER TRAYS!

That would work for me, surely.

Mr. Hunt handed me (and others) a bottle of water from the stage last Pogues show I was at. As I walked out of the venue a lady security guard tried to take it from me(?) and I let her know that she was not taking my sealed freaking H20 bottle at a venue in Texas I was most likely never gonna set foot in again, LOL.

I suppose I drank it.

I see this is a rather old post with a couple of fairly recent posts and so figured it’s worth a shot...

When I was about 8/9 years old, the whole family used one of those chewy sweets that turns your teeth blue so you really have to brush them well to remove the colour - it’s so you brush them properly. Anyways, I was brushing my teeth when the unthinkable happened - I knocked the mirror to the floor... it smashed to tiny pieces and I’m fairly certain my dad held back tears of despair. It wasn’t any old mirror, it was the Pogues Red Roses for Me promotional mirror.

I wondered if anyone in this chat / group might be able to help with some ideas on how I might go about sourcing one for him. It’s his 60th birthday in 2023 and I would love to surprise the hell out of him. Of course, I don’t expect anyone here that might have one to be wanting to part with it, but you may know someone or hear of something that could help!

Anyways, if you have an advice or know if anyone / where to approach it would be most appreciated!

All the best,
Lydia

That is super sweet, and speaking as a dad you will be the best child if you pull this off! My only advice is to set some keyword searches on ebay, "pogues" + "mirror" should do it. It may take months or years, but i have found things i wasn't even sure existed using saved searches.

I never even knew these existed, so now you may have to compete with me if one turns up on the ebay ;)

I found one for sale maybe 20 years ago but it was well outside of my price range. I've never found one since.

Hi Lydia,

That's a sad story and it would be fantastic if you could replace it.

It seems to be a rare piece and i found an old listing from 2006 that has a picture of it.

I wonder could you get an artist or sign writer to recreate the original if you could get a better image than this one?

Keep searching regularly on ebay and other memorabilia sites. You might get lucky.

I never thought anything of it, but to me it looks like he's the only one in the world happy to have a tracheotomy. I just hope he doesn't try to still smoke through it.
