Nice story about why Shane is going to play at a very small venue in March 19, 2005 appeared at the Popes official website.

"Unbelievably, John Roberts, the organiser at South Parade Pier Southsea of such events as Bullfrog Blues & Roots Club and Southsea Folk Festival, has pulled off an major coup by booking Shane MacGowan & The Popes to appear at The Pier - a 750 capacity venue - on Saturday 19th March - two days after St Patricks Day!
