You can Pogues dvd at Sinn Fein book shop.

Had a quick look on the above link /bookshop. Liked the look of this t shirt { http://www.sinnfeinbookshop.com/fenians-t-shirt/ } , but not sure I would be brave enough to wear it.

As I recall, we only played it that week, though it's possible we did it on one or two other occasions when Lynval was around (he was the co-manager of our then support band After Tonite.)

Surely a massage to you rudy has a whole different connotation?!

It was played at least once in Dec 88 as well, along with another Specials track - can't remember which right now. Another in the list of wonderful 'limited edition' Pogues covers such as Darklands, White Light/White Heat, Goodnight Irene, etc....

By the way, I'm talking about the live-DVD March 1988.

Cheers!

Doesn't Andrew remind you of Ian Dury in that performance?

He says;

"Thank you! The stunning Mr James Fearnley! For when the accordion doth speak, it maketh both my knees go weak."

Thank You! What does "doth" mean in this case?

I always thought it was "doc" (doctor) because of James' accordion skills :-P

It's faux-Shakesperean for "does", like "maketh".

My moment of fame is that I'm on the video, down the front, looking like I've had a few as well.

Are you one of the guys with cigarettes in the mouth? At the end of the show James Fearnley gives them something like wine, I don't know what it is exactly, are you one of them? :)

I was at the gig on St Patrick's night and bought the video when it came out and now you tell me that it's recorded over the week. I want my money back!

It was a tremendous night. I do recall Mr Woods looking like he'd partaken of the day, so that's maybe why he added his flourishes later. He introduced Steve Earle to do Johnny Come Lately, only for Spider to announce Steve Earle had gone back to the US that morning and sing it himself!
