There's also these

1993.08.06 - Greater London Radio Sessions

01 Interview.flac
02 Once Upon a Time (Jem).flac
03 Interview 2.flac
04 The Star Of The County Down (Andrew).flac
05 Outro.flac

Recorded in the run up to the release of the
'Waiting For Herb' album, I think that it is
fair to say that this period wasn't the greatest
for The Pogues. Shane had by this point left the
band and Spider (who stepped up to the mike to fill
those big shoes) was stuck in London traffic, so
does not appear on this recording.

1995.09.30 - BBC Radio 1 Session

01. Interview
02. Living In A World Without Her
03. Interview
04. Brights Lights
05. Interview
06. When The Ship Comes In

The line up on this session is: Spider Stacy, Jem Finer, James McNally (accordian), David Coulter (violin, mandolin), Jamie Clarke (guitar)

Hahahahaha Nice bit of work. Can you produce it for real? Just a limited run for us?

The Phil Kennedy Show – Broadcast 3/2/1985

13. A Pair Of Brown Eyes *+
14. Muirshin Durkin *+

You're absolutely right, they are the single versions. Which is really weird, especially as Sally Mac isn't. How strange.

I thought I was right, but I was only 99.9% sure to be honest. I'm glad someone else has noticed this now ;-)

Definitely the single versions - the fade out at the end of Brown Eyes is a dead give away.

Why didn't they include these instead of the official singles? Maybe an error on the BBC lol

1985.09.13 - Saturday Live BC Sessions (All live I must add)

01 Repeal Of The Licensing Laws.flac
02 Interview.flac
03 Streams Of Whiskey.flac
04 A Pair Of Brown Eyes.flac

Hm, somebody should track down Ted Beston & ask him. ("Tracks 13-15 recorded February 1985. Produced by Ted Beston (engineer unknown). Broadcast 2nd March 1985 on The Phil Kennedy Show.")

Maybe Ted Beston produced the show and not the actual tracks? Although that doesn't make sense as it says the tracks were recorded in Feb 85. Maybe that only applies to Sally Mac, or they recorded all 3 but accidentally included the single versions of Brown Eyes and Muirshin on the CD (although that sounds unlikely).

21 Years of Alternative Radio 1 features the same version of Sally Mac and says it is from the Peel Show and produced by Mark Radcliffe, which is clearly different again. I'd thought at one point it might be an alternate take from the Dec 84 Peel session, but I think it sounds like it was recorded later - in fact it sounds like it was recorded in Feb 85!

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I've never heard of a Phil Kennedy session before (for any band). It's all very weird.

Great CD, takes me right back to the early days. If only we had a bit of live Poguetry to give us all a lift in these grey days.

Finally explains the mystery of where Sally Mac on "21 Years of Alternative Radio 1" came from as well - the Phil Kennedy session.

Mine arrived today too. I had some tracks on the odd boot, but it's been very nice hearing them all together. Certainly a fine tonic for a dreary Friday 13th.
