Thanks for the review DZM.
Sounds like it's worthwhile, and that it could be really interesting...

The additional tracks are very much "incidental" music for scenes in the movie (the quiet background kind of stuff that helps give a scene a mood). It's entertaining, but something I'd recommend mostly for fans that want a complete collection rather than people looking for a collection of music that they will listen to endlessly.

All my own humble opinion of course. I really like it.

Phil Chevron has posted this bit of info on the FOS message board.

(Phil Chevron), Alex Cox, Dan Wool (Pray For Rain) and Nick Robbins have just finished assembling the new edition of the "Straight To Hell" soundtrack album. In addition to tracks from Zander Schloss, The MacManus Gang (Elvis Costello), Joe Strummer and Pray For Rain, the album contains the following Pogues tracks:

"Long Cool Day In Hell" (previously unreleased), "Ferni's Bolero" (previously unreleased), "Night On Bald Mountain (Mussorgsky)" (previously unreleased), "Harmonicas" (previously unreleased), "Rabinga", "Big Question Mark" (previously unreleased), "L'Amoria" (previously unreleased), "Obsession" (previously unreleased), "Quiet Day In Blanco Town" (previously unreleased), "If I Should Fall From Grace With God", "Danny Boy" (Cait O'Riordan), "Taranta Del Fuente" (previously unreleased), "Rake At The Gates Of Hell".

All the previously unreleased tracks are the complete versions of instrumental pieces featured in the movie's soundtrack but not used on the previous Stiff/Hell/Enigma/Repertoire editions
of the album.

The CD is released in June by Ace Records on their Big Beat label, catalogue number CDWIKD 239.
