Someone recently added a Russian flexi of Dirty Old Town which I personally hadn't seen before. Almost certainly very unofficial, methinks.

This is the thing here - http://www.45cat.com/record/p602186

There were numerous different Russian flexis at one point, none of which could unduly be accused of high fidelity. I quite liked the Polish-origin postcard discs (records pressed on a sort of laminated cardboard) that emerged around that time too. I'm not sure if official/unofficial counted much: there was a sense that our music had been drafted into a greater cause.

Nobody? Oh well... if you change your minds... I was hoping you chaps and chappesses would have some nice rarities to add.

Hope some of you decide to help out at some point.

Cheers.

Help with online record/CD/cassette project!

Post by nboldock Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:14 am

Hi all,

I'm a moderator on the website 45worlds.com which aims to document every 78rpm record, Cd single, cassette single and 12" single ever released worldwide. So, just a small task then..!

Given that I'm also a massive Pogues fan I've a vested interest in seeing as many Pogues releases as possible on the database. There are currently loads of gaps, just because various items haven't yet been added. (I've added everything I currently have).

If any of you would like to help, please hop on over to the website and get cracking!

Not just Pogues records either, and we're especially looking out for Cd and cassette singles to help build the new worlds (45world is a new extension to the 45cat website). Obviously the cassette world is the slow mover (as we knew it would be) and we only have a small handful of Pogues tapes on there at the present time.

The one thing to note is that we do really want people to enter their OWN records/tapes/CDs rather than sourcing the information from discographies etc on the internet as it can lead to erroneous information if the physical release isn't in front of you when you enter the details.

Any help is very much appreciated!
