Sorry mate, yeah jem does play it open was thinking of body of an American. He uses F, A sharp or B flat as there the same and C. Not sure what roll he's playing for dirty old town, I just use alternating thumb roll throughout.

OK, thanks, gam.

But here he plays defenetely open-g:

F B C?

For DoT:
I mean the first singing verse. He plays not the standardroll.

Hard to explain here, but in this vid you hear it (when alain starts singing). He keeps on doing this kind of roll untill the instrumental starts. Here he switches to the alternating thump roll:

Regarding dirty old town, if you mean before the singing, its played in the key of D so you would start on D then the change to G and so on if I remember rightly. Poor pandy uses the chords G,C,D in the fist bit, never worked out the fast bit. Sickbed is capod at the fifth fret using G,C,D leaving fifth string open in g tuning.
When I first started playing it was hard with chord changes but after a while it get easier, that also applies to the speed of fairytale, couldn't play it at first but over time you get faster.
Hope that answers some of your questions, never really worked out how to play streams or waxes.
If you need anything else ask away.
Keep up the good work as I don't have the time these days.

Just 2 quick questions, gam:

1) What the hell does Jem in the first verse on Dirty Old Town?

2) Do you have Tabs for Poor Paddy and Streams of Whiskey, Waxies Dargle?

The pattern of Old Main Drag is clear, but i have really problems switching from A to D and vs. Same on Sickbed. Shame on me... :-)

For Thousands, Jem told me at the aftershow party in Berlin, that this pattern is correct. But gam, listen to the tons of Bootlegs, which are avaiable. At the End of the day the play it on "every" gig different :-)

Fairytale is way to fast for me at the beginning :-(
And sorry, i am not member on Facebook.

Having had a a few days looking through your tabs redadeg, just a few things 1. The picking pattern you have for boys from the county hell has to many notes, only 8 notes in 2/4 bar, the last two need deleting. 2. Thousands are sailing has the same picking pattern as boys from the county hell. As of the others, they all look ok people should be able to work out what they need to play. Also if your trying to do fairytale of new York or old main drag, they both have the same picking pattern as the band played waltzing matilda.

There is no attempt to make money, just having fun and give the best overview what Jem plays.
If somebody has material or ideas, which make my sheets better, please let me know. I am a pure noob and bloody
beginner who is trying to teach hisself since summer 14, so the possibility is pretty big, that there ate mistakes and errors. I have no idea about music.....

I have used some tabs, written here in the medusa, correctet them and tried to bring it a bit nearer to the real playing.

I hope its ok, especially for gam.

Nice one. I'll be having a look at that.

Last try for question:

Is there somebody out there, who knows which rolls Jem plays in the different songs?

Would be pretty helpfull for beginners like me ;)
