My favorite Pogue song would have to be Down In The Ground Where The Dead Men Go. It has good lyrics about an important event in Irish history, I also like the 2 singers thing, makes it unique.

Not to mention good ol' Cait (as well as the rest of the band) screaming her lungs out!!

Whenever I get someone who has never listned to The Pogues before I always play that song to see the expression on their faces when the howling starts towards the end of the song.

i don't like the dkm version of it very much. no one can compare to the sexadociousness the dubliners did it with.

yes they did, they also covered the rocky road to dublin

SickBed wrote:That's a tough question.

I'd say "Sick Bed of Cuchulainn" (see username :P ) or maybe "Thousands Are Sailing."

yeah, that's one of my all time favorites. i used to listen to the sick bed every night before going to bed.

i've been wanting the singles collection for a while (that's the only album it's on right?) but i keep getting other stuff. i still haven't heard that cover though. :(

oh well. i bet it sucks. the only band to ever cover a pogues song well is the tossers, because they took one of their crappy ones and made it good. (young ned of the hill). :D
