I can't believe I have been away from the board for so long, this is a great discussion thread
::start rant::
Listen, the pogues can charge what they want, and people will complain no matter what. Since there are like twenty band members, they each only get 1/20th of the earnings. I have no problems with them cashing in a little bit since they are amazing musicians, and you never know what will be the last show. $60 or $70 is the going price for a show like this, and in my opinion even it is even appropriate. You can go see a huge band for around $100 - $200 like Justin Timberlake or the Stones, or even comedians go for $100 a seat sometimes. People pay $300/seat for opera tickets or good baseball or hocket tickets. Hockey games last around 1.5 hrs only.
I see that someone mentioned the US and NYC in particular being expensive. Well yeah transportation and lodging are expensive, but that is not the fault of the Pogues, and nyc is the best city in the world, so you should consider yourself lucky that they are not playing in some hokey joint in Hartford CT. And I don't even want to hear any europeans complaining about how much it costs, since the US dollar will most likely be down the toilet and in the sewer by next spring.
